ReelRank didn’t start as a business plan. It started because one of us was losing his weekends to spreadsheets trying to run a fishing club — and the other one builds software.
The honest version
ReelRank wasn’t built to “disrupt” anything or capture a market. It started because Phil runs his club, and every season he was burning nights on spreadsheets, group texts, and a shoebox of paper waivers. The fishing was the easy part — the admin was the grind.
Adam builds software for a living. We’re friends who both fish and who, for whatever reason, actually like working together. So one of us said “let me just build the thing you keep complaining about” — and ReelRank is what came out.
We’re not a venture-funded land grab trying to own competitive fishing. We’re two people scratching a real itch: shipping the tool we wish Phil’s club had five years ago, and making it good enough that other clubs want it too.
